PROJECT 1:
Who was Fibonacci and what was his mathematical pattern?

Qui était Fibonacci et quelle était sa suite numérique ?


​Project Ideas:
1) Advertisement: Create an advertisement for
Fibonacci Day -
November 23. 

2) Create an autobiography written by Mr. Fibonacci. 
3) Create an award to be presented to Mr. Fibonacci. Don’t forget to include a opening speech to present the award and an acceptance speech. 

Make sure to include the following:
•  Include the Fibonacci sequence 
• Explain who was Leonardo Fibonacci and why he is important (English and French)
• Explain the Fibonacci sequence (English and French)

How are Fibonacci numbers express in nature?

Project ideas: 
1) Advertisement: Create an advertisement for Take Me Outside Day - October 24 based on Fibonacci numbers and nature. 
2) Calendars: create a 12 month calendar explaining how Fibonacci numbers are expressed in nature.

Make sure to include the following:
• Explain and draw a picture of Fibonacci's spiral and squares

• Explain how the Fibonacci numbers can be seen in Nature
• Show or draw examples of Fibonacci numbers in Plants ​

Fibonacci Rabbits -
How do you solve the fibonacci problem and why is it important?
Les lapins de Fibonacci - Comment résoudre le problème de fibonacci et pourquoi est-il important?

Project ideas: 
  1. Comic Strip or Book: create an illustrated comic strip representing Fibonacci Rabbits.
  2. 12 month calendar: create a 12 month calendar to explain Fibonacci rabbits. 
  3. Flowchart: create a flowchart analyzing and representing the mathematical explanation of Fibonacci’s rabbits. 
Make sure to include the following:
• 
Write out Fibonacci’s mathematical question in English and French. 

•  Draw a diagram explaining the answer. (English and French)
• Explain how this problem is useful with real-world examples.

Pascal Triangle -What is the meaning of Pascal's triangle?
Le Triangle de Pascal - Quelle est la signification du triangle de Pascal?

Project ideas:
  1. Interactive poster: create an interactive poster that explains the different patterns in the pascal triangle. 
  2. Create an autobiography written by Blaise Pascal, the famous French Mathematican and philosopher. 
  3. Create an award to be presented to Mr. Pascal. Don’t forget to include a opening speech to present the award and an acceptance speech.
  4. 12 month calendar: create a 12 month calendar to explains the different patterns seen in the Pascal triangle - One pattern for every month.

Make sure to include the following:
• Draw out the Pascal triangle (You can use a template) and write down the most obvious sequences/patterns. 
• Write down as many sequences as you can research. Illustrate the sequences you found.

• Explain the Fibonacci sequence in the Pascal triangle.

PROJECT 5 
Phi - The Golder Ratio - Why is the golden ratio most pleasing to the eye?
Phi - Le nombre d’or -  Pourquoi le nombre d'or est la plus agréable à l'oeil?

Project ideas:
1) Interactive poster: create an interactive poster that explains the golden   ratio with real-world examples. 
3) Blueprint: create a blueprints of a structure that uses the golden ratio.
2) Collage of artwork: Create a collage of your own artwork that uses the
golden ratio.

Make sure to include the following:
•  Draw the symbol of the golden ratio and write it numerically. 
•  Show how to calculate Phi using the Fibonacci sequence (draw a table)
• Explain and draw examples of how the golden ratio is used in art, music and architecture. i.e. Mona Lisa, the Parthenon, Notre Dame, the Taj Mahal, the CN tower etc.
